Title: “Four-Dimensional Transparentization” of Structures on a National Scale
Abstruct: Traditionally, the construction of “visible spatial information,” such as the surface conditions of structures that can be seen by the naked eye, has been the mainstream of research. What will bring innovation in the next era is constructing “non-visible spatial information” that cannot be directly seen by the eye, such as the inside of structures, and integrating this invisible information with visible spatial information. We measure structures and roads on a national scale using radar and LiDAR, and process the data mathematically. Just like the MRI technology used in medical field, we try to three-dimensionally visualize the positions and 3D shapes of structural surfaces and internal damages, buried pipes, cavities and other objects under road surfaces in real time. Furthermore, by capturing even the temporal changes of the 3D images, we aim to realize the “Four-Dimensional Transparentization” technology for structures.
