本研究室学部４年王天易さんがIISCUP2022温泉卓球大会で優勝しました。
本大会は生研内教職員の団体である弥生会によって主催されたもので、10年ぶりに開催されました。
この種目は日本の文化である温泉卓球を工学的に再構築したもので、各自持参したラケットの代わりになるものを、弾性係数と曲率によって定められたレギュレーションに応じてその強さを算定する「生研式温泉卓球」です。
王天易さんはスマートフォンをラケットに用い、生研職員および学生の23 名の参加者の中から見事勝ち抜きました。

Tianyi Wang, a 4th-year bachelor’s student from our group, won a first prise in IISCUP2022 Hot Spring Table Tennis Tournament.
The tournament was held by Yayoi-kai, a faculty and staff organizations of IIS, for the first time in 10 years.
This game is an engineering version of Japanese traditional Hot-Spring Table Tennis. Each players bring a substitute for a racket, and handicap is set based on its modulus of elasticity and curvature.
Wang-san used his smartphone as a racket, and became a champion among 23 faculty and student players.
